Internships
Cleveland Play House's Intern program provides young adults an opportunity to learn from the nation's top theatre artists and professionals at a unique arts facility producing top-tier theatre that is contemporary in style and substance. This hands-on experience is tailored to provide the maximum educational benefit to each participant.
Cleveland Play House interns will have the opportunity to:
- Engage in their discipline or major.
- Be encouraged to establish a set of skills in which he/she would like to improve throughout the internship.
- Provide opportunities in which intern can improve upon self-determined skill sets.
- Put learning into context to improve understanding and retention of concepts.
- Provide networking and mentoring opportunities.
- Learn from his/her own successes and failures.
- Become a motivated arts participant.
CPH offers two types of internship: General or Production. General interns work part-time in the administrative departments at CPH, including Administration, Artistic, Development, Education, Marketing and Media and Information Systems departments. Production interns work full-time during the production season in either stage management or design, including sound, costumes, properties, scenic paint, and electrics.
Internships are available one, two, or three semester blocks depending on the needs of each department. Priority will be given to intern candidates who are available for the course of a season (September-May).
