thoroughly enjoyed this production: acting fantastic, as was timing and lighting and set, direction, more and and and... at the tuesday preview.

- renee, lyndhurst

We really thought the performance was great! The acting was super - very believable. The more play was very engaging - moved along, totally natural dialogue, good themes, interesting characters, and some lighter moments along with the more serious under-currents. We didn't know what to expect and found an unexpected surprise in this high-quality, thought-provoking, and enjoyable production!

- CBS, Medina, OH

a marvelous, intellectual, play with two fine performances. thoroughly enjoyed.

- lwj, cleveland

The play was INCREDIBLE! We so enjoyed the two actors, the play, the set, more the new theater â€" everything!

- Kristina K., Cleveland Heights

The two performances felt real, like two real men, and I felt like I was more peering into Rothko's studio. The time flew by and I didn't want the 90 minutes to be up!

- Amy, Cleveland

another good show for this season---great two man show

- Bob and Vicki, Mentor

An engrossing evening of theatre. Interesting play about a difficult artist. Superbly acted, more produced and directed. Certainly kept the audience fully awake. Kudos all round.

- EK, Shaker Hts

My wife and I enjoyed the play RED, immensely. Interesting look into mind and more emotions of an artist, in this case an abstract expressionist. The role of Mark Rothko was expertly played by Bob Ari who brought the toughness and vulnerability of the man into view.

- Ernest Miller, Chesterland

We loved it-not a bad seat in the "House"!

- Jeanne G., Cleveland

I know it seems like I always rave about your shows, but in letting last more night's performance of RED reverberate through me, profound feelings like "truly unforgettable" and "the reason I've dedicated my life to the theatre" come like a tidal wave. It's one of those times that I don't even want to try to articulate the power of the experience for fear of diminishing it. Thank you for bringing this amazing play and first-class production to Cleveland!

- John H., Cleveland

"Red" was incredibly moving and thought-provoking. The wealth of dialogue was well-balanced with sensual elements more of music, color, and lighting. The complete production from the acting to the venue delivered even more than I expected. Thank you Cleveland Play House for bringing "Red" to Cleveland!

- Jeni, Lakewood, OH

I attended the Sunday show of Red. I loved the pre show talk. I LOVED more the show. The actors were wonderful. I have excitedly told everyone who comes near me. Thanks for this great show. I wish I had stayed for the after show talk.....maybe next time. I am very happy with the new Cleveland Play House.

- Carol B., Cleveland, OH

I loved the play, the dialog was quick, direct and humorous and the actors were more just teriffic. I enjoyd it very much and loved the all the music they played!

- JNA, Cleveland

The actors were very very good, the script true to the painter; I found more the set design masterful in all aspects and with the lighting, a work of animated art!

- Pat F., Cleveland, OH

I thoroughly enjoyed Red on Tuesday evening. The acting was superb and the dialogue more thought-provoking. I would highly recommend it to all who love theater.

- Jill Welsh, Novelty

I attended RED last evening and was blown away by the sets, the staging, and more the incredible acting. The actors showed such conviction with every word they spoke and move they made. I always feel so alive when I am in the seats of a theater at Playhouse Square and think what CPH is doing is energizing downtown. Bravo!

- Jessica Wallis, Munroe Falls

This production is a must see. . . where art is not about what is more seen on the canvas. . . but how it becomes the remnants of our fears and visceral emotions.

- Michael Almony, Cleveland, OH

a forceful new production of 'Red' [that] reminds us what a formidable presence Rothko was.

- The New York Times, NYC

The play was fantastic from the great script to the amazing two characters played by more Bob Ari and Randy Harrison. I strongly recommend the pre-show program highly. The one last Sat. night was the best this year!

- Karen , Shaker Heights

Red was thoroughly engaging. The dialectic betwen these actors - and within Rothko himself -electrified more the stage. I found it deeply thought-provoking, providing insight not only into this painter's inner life, but also prompting us as audience members to evaluate our own contradictions and values. Bravo, Cleveland Play House for bringing this strong production to Cleveland!

- Bob Kachurek, Lyndhurst

I've been a Rothko fan for 35 years. I have two Rothko posters in my more study at home. The Rothko Room at the Phillips Gallery in Washington, D.C. is a very special place to me. The Rothko I saw in Red was the Rothko I knew. The writing and the production were magnificent.
