Wow! This production was fantastic! We were unsure when we heard there were more only two people in the cast, but it works wonderfully. The set was beautiful and creative. The acting was outstanding. Most of all, the music and quality of the singing voices was truly world class. Seeing it in the intimate space of the new Allen made us feel part of the story. We'll honestly never forget it. It's the best production we've seen by CPH.

- Dave L, Chagrin Falls, OH

Absolutely delightful! Wonderful music, glorious voices, funny, light, and tender. Also loved the new Allen.

- KW, Cleveland Heights

Memorable performances. Truly charming.

- JN, Parma

was really a great show, wonderful voices the new theater is a great place to more see almost anything

- Bob &Vicki Curtis, Mentor Ohio

One of the best performances we have enjoyed at the Play House ~ and we more have enjoyed several, both at the old and new locations!

- Jackie and Bruce, Medina

My wife and I really enjoyed the performance. The two actors were superb accompanied by more an exceptional orchestra. Highly recommended.!

- TC, Avon Lake

One of the most entertaining musicals I have seen! The music was wonderful and more the actors delightful!

- Kathy H, Westlake

The show was wonderful. A charming treatment of a charming story. The more cast of two were outstanding. As the play progressed the music became more and more compelling.

- Spencer Neth, Cleveland Heights

Absolutely marvelous show. The voices were perfect and we enjoyed every minute. Megan McGinnis is more a star and her singing was breath taking in the role of Jerusha. I thought she and Robert Hancock played very well off each other and are both very gifted actors. The staging was excellent, we had super seats and the Allen is a wonderful place (retaining a grand yet much updated look of its past) to see a play. This is what outstanding theater is all about.

- Lynne and Dale, Aurora

I had seen the movie of the same name but I hadn't read the book, more so this play was quite a pleasant surprise. The actors were excellent and I loved the conceit of a play comprised entirely of letters. I recommended the play to our niece who is quite a bibliophile.

- VnH, Shaker Heights

I love live theater and go often. This was one of the most outstanding theater more events I have ever attended. Magical! Anyone at any age will enjoy it.

- Lois Becker, Cleveland

This was the best play that I've seen in a long , long time. Just more what the doctor ordered. Megan McGinnis was fabulous. Her voice, flawless, her character - believable. Robert Adelman Hancock's character, was charming and very easy on the eye. I love romantic comedies, and this was the best yet!

- LDC, Beachwood

I enjoyed Daddy Long Legs immensely as an old-fashioned romance from the early 1900's with more delightful music and humor carrying the story line. I didn't need anything more to make it a great experience for the evening.

- MB, Willoughby Hills

My husband and I thought the production was fabulous! The singing was excellent. The more story was touching but included humor. I think this is a show to be remembered. Thank you all for giving us a wonderful afternoon.

- Gail Arnold, Pepper Pike

I absolutely LOVED Daddy Long Legs. The singing was wonderful! The songs and letters were more so eloquent! The staging was creative and effective. I also really appreciated the pre-show program where the speaker shed light on a bit of Cleveland history, as well as the huge success of Jean Webster's book, Daddy Long Legs, on which this musical is based. I highly recommend the show.

- Karen, Shaker Heights

A perfect performance by outrageously talented actors. I was so blown away that I wanted more to get their autographs (but alas, didn't know how). Megan McGinnis is especially good at playing up the wry humor of her character. I found myself the next day wandering the house bellowing "JerU--sha Abbot!" at the top of my lungs. And, as always, the scenery was fabulous and we loved the clever use of technology to show the dates of the letters.

- Laura Jaques, Akron, OH

we loved it...sophisticated early feminist views...some contemporary pertinence..

- lois, orange

Great music, super performance by both actors. Nice story--even if it was a little sappy more in the romance side! :-)) Very appropriate for today even though it was written almost 90 years ago. Am very interested in reading the book, now.

- JSK, Cleveland, oH

Daddy Long Legs was a wonderful play/musical! Besides being a pleasant story, the music more was very special, relevant of the time yet relevant to today, as well. Our experience was one of sheer involvement with the two, very talented actors as the story unfolded. Their voices blended and then soared apart so that the story line was never broken. I have already told several other friends they must make the effort to drive an hour down town and an hour back because Daddy Long Legs is one of those once in a life-time experiences.

- Emily Stay, Novelty, Ohio

It was an outstanding performance..... the best! My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves more & would highly recommend others seeing it.

- JO, Novelty

This was a superb production. The screenplay adaption flowed perfectly with little lag in the more flow of the story. The acting was top shelf. Their ability to convey their parts clearly whether spoken or sung added to the ease and comfort of following the story line. This was a thoroughly entertaining production, one of the best of our 16 years as subscribers.

- Bob Coleman, Willoughby Hills

We enjoyed Daddy Long Legs very much and enthusiastically joined the standing ovation. The harmony more of those two voices was outstanding.

- FG, Beachwood

It was just delightful! An unexpected pleasure from start to finish.

- Teri dew, Cleveland

Charming show. Megan McGinnis gives a portrayal that is both vulnerable and spunky. more My husband actually thanked me for taking him to see the show - said it's one of the best he's seen in a long time!

- Carol, Hudson

One of the most enthralling, entertaining, and moving love stories I've seen on the American more musical theatre stage.

- StageSceneLA.com, Los Angeles

This is not a review, but this is what I e-mailed a friend who often more attended the old cph venue, but is reluctant to try the new Allen theater venue:

Hope you get to the new Cleveland Play House at the Allen Theatre one of these days. It truly is a wonderful venue, and the new walkway is now open so the distance from parking garage to the theater is much shorter and is less than a 5 minute walk. Both of us absolutely LOVED Daddy Long Legs on Saturday night. Nothing like the movie musical. This orphan girl becomes a writer not a dancer. Almost the entire production is sung and the two characters are onstage during the entire performance. It was magical and extremely well written, directed and performed.

- PJJ, Shaker Heights

What an upbeat, heartwarming show, superbly acted and sung by the two performers. And more the newly renovated Allen Theater---not a bad seat in the house. This is not to be missed.

- Jack, Lakewood

This was a great show! Amazingly talented actors and a very polished orchestra. more We loved it all, and would see it again!

- rl, Solon

I absolutely loved this show!

- dan trinter, wellington

INCREDIBLE !!!!!

- tommie, garfield hts

Charming show! Very clever staging. Enjoyed the newly renovated Allen theater. Good more acoustics. Heard every word.

- LA, Aurora

Absolutely wonderful! This production with these actors were tremendously refreshing! If you want a more nostalgic memory as well as a look at America coming of age for defining a women's place in education and politics-this is the play!

- m sandra truett, cleveland heights

Absolutely loved the production! The actors, music, set, (and of course, the newly redone more Allen Theatre) made for a memorable experience. Also appreciated the pre and post production discussions. Thanks CPH for all you do to keep theatre standards so high in Cleveland.

- MNM, Mentor

The show was an absolute delight! Both talented actors reeled us into their characters more and charm. Individually they were great, and together their harmonies were wonderful. I have already recommended this to many and could see it again myself.

- mrd, Rocky River

I had read the book years ago and found the play true to the book more (as I remembered it). The actors were AMAZING, especially Jerusha! Both in terms of singing and acting she was spot on. we really enjoyed this play and would highly recommend that anyone see it.

- CS, Chagrin Falls

Wonderful ! Extremely clever and magnificently acted and sung. A real treat.

Belongs Off-Broadway, more and in every regional theater (even on-Broadway)

- Joyce Gordon, Novelty

I am singing the Cleveland Play House's praises. Daddy Long Legs is impeccable in more terms of its acting, staging, and production design-- one of the most endearing, and moving performances I have seen in a long time!

- Michael A. Almony, Cleveland

Whereas 2003's 'Wicked' may have been the most successful musical of the first decade of more the 21st century, I'd be willing to bet that, in this century's second decade, 'Daddy Long Legs' will become much more deeply adored and cherished by women of all ages.

- George Heymont, The Huffington Post

A perfect little gem of a show. One of the most delightful and charming more musicals I've seen. A lovely score and a smart, well written book with two outstanding performances.

- JR, Lakewood

Delightful!

The voices were magnificent; the musical accompaniment excellent but not intrusive. more We enjoyed the set, which suggested rather than overwhelmed. All in all--a fine performance!

- Mary Jo Groppe, Shaker Heights

What a great show! I found myself smiling all through it. Wish you were selling more the CDs in the lobby, as the actors are great both individually and together.

- lynn, akron, oh

This was the best show I've seen in probably 20 years! I was absolutely more floored by how good it was! I cried through the whole thing--sometimes because it was sad but more often than not because it was just so happy and fun! I can't recommend this show enough! LOVED IT! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

- PjH, Geneva

The show was enchanting. We thoroughly enjoyed both actors for their endearing performances and more beautiful voices.

- Wally, University Hts.

The performance was charming and extremely clever. Both actors displayed strong performances and their more voices complimented each other so well. They seemed as though they were made for the roles! I especially enjoyed watching them on stage together during the entire play. I felt as though I was in on a wonderful secret.

It was a beautifully written play, had fabulous seats, in an equally fabulous theatre. more The parking was great!

Excellent show. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Both performers were more excellent.

I loved the production. The story was charming and also reflected the wider experience more of women who were making headway in education, voting, working and experiencing the wide world. The voices of the two actors were exquisite and their performances perfect. It was thrilling on many levels. I was happy to read in the PD that several movie versions also exist and am glad CPH is making the novel available to everyone.

Great choice and magnificently executed.

- Virginia Goetz, Cleveland

We loved the play. The female lead was ideal for the part. She more just sparkled. The harmony between the two was so good. Keep up the good work.

- Frank & Sandra O'Dell, N Ridgeville

Just delightful. My mind never wandered for a second! Funny, tender and all more around a great evening spent in the intimate setting of the beautiful Allen Theatre.
